Hello All,
I am back again with another PM Poll.
This time in order to understand which one listed below is important for you to execute a successful project.
I am sure that you might think more than one factor important, but which one is the first comes to your mind.
I am interested in that and you please vote for that.
I am sure PM certifications/frameworks like PRINCE2/PMP discuss about each one of the factor,
but I am not sure whether it factors the importance of one over the other.
As usual, this poll is for my sole purpose only also it might help you to know what other PMs think.
YOu can check the poll result at the bottom of the poll.

Of all the options you have given to pick from, the Business Case is potentially the only external item. All the other options are elements that are the responsibility of the project manager to define if they are not externally established. The business case is the only item that will keep senior management focused on the success of the project and that must be in place when difficult decesions must be made at their level.
I would be interested in other people’s perspective as well.
I hesitate to pick one above all others, now if you had a way of ranking them in order of importance I could have answered the Poll.
The key part of your question is the word “execute”.
I would make some assumptions then. Executing means that initiation and planning has been completed. This means that the Business case was used to initiate the project, the project governance is in place, an accurate (on the day it was created) schedule exists. I also assume org structure, roles and responsibilities etc… have been defined.
Of the remaining choices I pick Tracking issues (then risks) above Proven Project Methodology and Great people. Because methodologies are only as good as the execution and you can still deliver a project with mediocre people.
