I have come across this term/concept very recently in UK i.e., "Project Stand-up Meeting".
I understood that this is more of a routine where every day morning, the project team stand up in their location and quickly tell what is their plan for today, what are the issues outstanding, highlight which team/member’s work would get impacted with his for the day.
It gives the project team an idea of things that might happen in that day and the team members can better prepared.
It also highlights the key outstanding issues which a person need to fix for the day.
I personally feel that this concept of "Project stand-up meeting" has a positive impact in the project environment.
Also please be careful that this is effective only if the project team size is less than five, if it is more than five, then it is upto project manager to logically group the team and have the project stand-up meetings for the group.
